SPORTS
The sporting programs we offer are soccer, Athletics, volleyball and Netball. Soon to introduce are basketball, baseball, tennis, swimming, table tennis, Badminton, etc .

FINE ARTS
All pupils participate in music and art instruction. We also plan to start Drama and Acting club in the near future and the interested pupils can participated in our theatrical performances. Traditional band and three levels of choir are available for interested Pupils.

SPIRITUAL FORMATION
Our pupils come from both Christian and Muslim Faiths and are taught Basics of their religious fundamentals in order to shape them into God fearing citizens. We do not discriminate based on one’s religious believes. We celebrate Mass as a community every Friday for christians as well as  “Juma” for the Muslim pupils led by the Imam of our community.

ACCREDITATION
APNUPS is a recognized school in the whole of West Nile Districts and operates with full permission of the Ministry of Education. However, its registration with National Primary Living Examination Centre number is in progress.

UNIFORMS
Uniforms are mandatory and must be purchased from the school.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
School Debate, Learning Tours, Straight Talk club, Boy scouts and girl guards, The Green Schools club, Music and Drama club.

COMMUNITY SERVICE ENRICHMENT
Our “Green Schools Club” programs encourage pupils to reflect on God’s calling to be stewards of creation and care for one another. All classes and teams participate in cleaning the environment, plant trees and serve the needy in the community throughout the year as they develop into confident servant leaders.

Please note that APNUPS is a community school with the education of rural children as a priority. As a school, we very much impress the ideal of admitting pupils in lower classes and then journeying with them through to the upper classes. We therefore limit admitting pupils from other schools in upper classes, only in exceptional circumstances, that is the pupil is a disadvantaged child, has good discipline and academic record from the previous school, etc.

The Criteria
Admission to APNUPS is made after the admission committee considers the following:

* APNUPS School Placement Test
* Academic Readiness- Nursery
* Previous Academic Performance-in case of pupils coming from other schools
Conduct and Behavior
* Family Interview

As per the stipulations of the policy guideline for Early Childhood Development and education Act:
– Children must be from 3 years old and above in order to be admitted to Nursery.
– Children must be 6 years old or 7 in order to be admitted to Primary
Immunization Record (provided by child’s physician) must include month, day and year of each immunization and health care provider’s signature or stamp. Pupils who are not in compliance will not be accepted.

Admission of new students to APNUPS is based on the following levels of priority, once academic and behavioral standards are met:
– Family status of the child-Whether an orphan, from poor family.
– Physical status- Whether Disabled or not- Remember we are focused on uplifting disadvantaged children in our communities.

*A high level of priority is not a guarantee of admission, pupils must first meet the academic and behavioral standards set forth by APNUPS.

APNUPS NURSERY
These programs are for the development of the children during the early stages of the formative years (3-6) and we follow the education policy guidelines for Early Childhood Education stipulated by the ministry of education of the republic of Uganda.

PRIMARY

This program is for pupils who will turn 6 or 7 years old by January 1 of every year.

All materials should be submitted by January 16th of every year except when the day falls on a weekend or public holiday. Once all materials are received, applications will be reviewed and decisions will be made. Decision notifications will be mailed by January 30th of every year.

* Immunization Record (provided by child’s physician or Parent/Guardian) must include month, day and year of each immunization and health care provider’s signature or stamp. Pupils who are not in compliance with these immunization guidelines will not be accepted, except under arranged circumstances.

As a community school, APNUPS does not charge school fees in the conventional sense. However, parents, who are the owners of the school contribute some little money per child enrolled in order to be able to run the school as in the breakdown below.

APNUPS has scholarship/financial aid available to children of eligible community members, who are in good standing academically and who have a clean discipline record and conduct report. APNUPS grants scholarships on a year-to year basis. Scholarships and Financial aid for eligible pupils is available only after the pupil has completed one full year at APNUPS. Any scholarship monies awarded will be deducted from the Term’s fees.
We do have an extensive Scholarship program for Orphans and children with disabilities.

Requirements:
Applicants must submit all required forms and documents, as follows:
1. Application form.
2. One passport sized photograph.
3. Photocopy of original birth certificate.
4. Copy of latest academic transcripts and certificates.
5. Signed statement of support from legal guardian, if parents are deceased or
incapacitated.
6. Minimum of one recommendation letter.
Any copies must be certified as a copy of the original, signed and dated.
